Hurricane Norbert is the strongest storm in the 2008 Pacific hurricane season. Norbert was the fifteenth tropical cyclone, fourteenth named storm, seventh hurricane of the season, and second major hurricane of the season. Norbert has claimed at least eight lives after making its final landfall in the Mexican state of Sonora as a category 1.
